As part of my sound recording/editing/designer duties I have had the need for a semi-permanent studio which is currently based is an old school.
It is a Pro Tools HD System capable of recording solo artists, small and large bands and orchestras.
It is portable and can be located in any suitable location; i.e. reasonably quiet and large enough to hold actors, musicians and the equipment. Unlike many studio set ups I don’t need a separate control room, loads of sound proofing or vocal booths.
This makes the recording studio ideal for ADR; and it can be set up on location. This allows for any ADR to take place as soon as possible and may even prevent the actors having to return to loop their dialogue.
Here are some original tracks recorded in the studio recently which will be used in a short film.
